NIAW

NIAW:
National Infertility Awareness Week

April 22-28

As we all may know: Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is the leading cause of infertility in women and that 80% of women with PCOS are considered infertile.

Infertility (IF) can be such a heartbreaking journey and it is still considered to be a "silent" disease or struggle in society. Although, you may see more and more on television some of the struggles that celebrities face with IF, it is very rare to see every day people struggling through IF. How do we gain the strength to talk about this silent disease? NIAW promotes each and everyone going through their own battles with IF or their loved ones to speak up! 1in10 joins forces in the support encouraging each of you to Raise Your Voice! Join support groups online (such as our very own forum or in your community. Build a support network and always, always know that you are not alone.

As NIAW comes to a close, we want to express how important it is for you to be able to talk to friends and family about your infertility journey. Resolve of New England posted a wonderful article with a video link that shares some helpful advice about how to approach the people in your life. RAISE YOUR VOICE!!!
